More than 800 individuals signed up as delegates for this year's convention -- a large number, but still less than the maximum allowable size for the convention. Since there were no "overfilings" for delegate in any city or county, no further election procedures were required, and all those who signed up as delegates were automatically elected.

Voting strength for each unit is determined by population and Republican voting performance in recent elections. Voting at the convention will be weighted so each unit is assured its full voting strength, regardless of how many delegates attend.
