NOMINATION:
The GOP nominee for Senate was selected by the Republican State Convention on Sat., May 31, 2008. Delegates to the convention could sign up through their local Republican committees by their local filing deadline (Feb./Mar. 2008). The decision on the nominating procedure was made by the Republican State Central Committee in October 2007.
Business executive Mark Ellmore won the Republican nomination for Congress in a primary election on June 10. He carried the district with more than 55% of the vote over Amit Singh.
Ellmore will go on to challenge discredited incumbent Democrat Jim Moran in November. We encourage you to get involved with the Ellmore campaign this year. Help elect a Republican to Congress from the 8th in '08!
