Convention candidates 2008

UPDATE: The Convention was held on May 17. Results are shown below. Congratulations to the successful candidates, and thanks to all of the candidates, and to the delegates who attended.

The individuals listed below filed for offices to be elected at the 8th District Republican Convention on Sat., May 17. (Contact information for the candidates will be added shortly.) The filing deadline for candidates was Feb. 4.

Any Republican voter who wishes to vote at the District Convention must sign up in advance through his or her local Republican Committee. Submit the appropriate local filing form to your city or county committee, by the local filing deadline. (See details on local deadlines and filing forms.) Each local committee will then elect individuals as delegates to the District Convention.

All certified delegates at the District Convention will be eligible to vote for positions related to the Presidential election (i.e., Delegates and Alternate Delgates to the National Convention, and Presidential elector). Those who wish to vote for 8th District party officers (District Chairman and State Central members) must pay the Convention registration fee ($25). If you do not wish to vote for those party offices, the registration fee is voluntary.
